Pringles Hot & Spicy
Hot off the presses. Pringles Hot & Spicy 40g packs are here
Pringles are excited to add Hot & Spicy to the 40g range to further grow sales of the single-serving can.
The 40g range already boasts Original, Sour Cream & Onion, Salt & Vinegar and BBQ, with Hot & Spicy ready to grab your on-the-go customers who want fiery, deep flavour in their snacks.
Hot & Spicy Pringles 40g cans will be available from June, with 59p price-marked packs on-shelf from the beginning of August. You can be sure to grab your customers’ attention and generate interest with Pringles point of sale (POS) merchandising units including:
- Pringles Gravity counter top unit
- Pringles counter top unit
- Magnetic Pringles portion pot hanging unit
Pringles in a 40g can represent a big opportunity. Last year alone sales increased by £3.4m to £12m*, and of the 20 biggest singles crisps brands in convenience it’s the one that’s growing the fastest. It’s also one of the most incremental singles brands, bringing more incremental shoppers to the category than Quavers, McCoys and Wotsits.**
Pringles are getting bigger. But there’s still room to grow.
The brand has 96 per cent awareness, but relatively low penetration. That’s changing this year, with 40g cans carrying on-pack promotions for the first time, and POS to help you make the most of even the most limited space through improved merchandising and marketing.
The cans have great stack-ability: the stock holding per shelf is greater than other mainstream crisp brands, and the brightly-coloured packaging offers the chance for you to create an eye-catching marketing display.
40g packs unlock new opportunities
Nick Dawson, Kellogg’s sales director for the specialty channel, said: “Since taking over the Pringles business in 2012, Kellogg’s has turned the 190g Pringles can into a snacking powerhouse, with yearly sales of almost £200m making it the biggest brand in the large sharing category.
“But now our attention is turning to the 40g can, which unlocks different in-store opportunities and targets a different shopper.
“Whereas large cans will always be a convenience store staple for big nights in, summer barbecues or parties, the smaller can is great for impulsive snacking on-the-go.
“Pringles Hot & Spicy is the latest addition to the 40g family, bolstering our range with a fiery-flavoured product that’s well-suited to the convenience sector, where these kinds of flavours do even better than they would in a supermarket.”
